GUEST BLOGGER: Twin 125s Race 2

This race is not as exciting as the last.  Lap 12 of 60 and I have nothing to say.  I am bored.  Contemplating a nap.  My cat Turbo is curled up next to me sleeping and he looks like he has the right idea.

But since you all have to work, I will try to capture the action for you...

I like the two rule changes:

1) Bump drafting is now ok; no penalties for it
2) Green white checker finishes will now get THREE tries instead of one.

I just realized why this race is so boring.  Matt Kenseth is in it.

Lap 34 of 60, still nothing to report.

I still say Scott Speed is a fake name.  Possibly Mike Bliss too.

OMG! One lap left and my TV just went to blue screen and said, "All HD Services Are Now in Use. It is 2pm and you are now taping General Hospital and the Martha Stewart show"  I had to JUMP up and quickly cancel Martha, and switch back right to Speed right when they crossed the finish line.  That was the most excitement I had all race!

Does Kasey Kahne ever age?  He is like Richard on Lost.

Now Michael Waltrip is crying (I swear) because he "loves Scott Speed" (who, BTW, did not win the race.)  Then he says "I don't care what he does with his toenails."  WTF?!

Good ending though!!  Again, I won't ruin it for you.

Alrighty then....I now leave it to John to take over on Sunday.

GUEST BLOGGER: Live Blogging The Twin 125s...

Hey Commish - do you mind if I live blog the Twin 125s on your site?  Well too bad!  I will be sharing my thoughts below, live as it unfolds....

-- Bill Elliot?!  REALLY?  My God, I never thought I'd see someone OLDER than Mark Martin racing in this thing.  It's like the battle of the octogenarians.

-- Oh DW, it is sooooo nice to hear your voice again!  I didn't even realize I missed your "boogity boogity boogity" so much until I heard it again!

-- "Joe Nemecheck, off the pace" -- now that's a phrase we will hear a lot this year.

-- McMurray is like the Lady Gaga of NASCAR.  You never notice him until he does something crazy or stupid.  He has questionable sexuality.  And he's always changing his hair.

-- Can someone please poison the AFLAC duck?

-- Max Papis does not sound like an Italian name.

-- Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson both have pregnant wives?  I wonder if that happened at a party, or separately.

-- Crap!  I just picked Jeff Burton for the 500 and now he has a tire down...

-- Michale Waltrip crashes. Says it was his own fault.  I'm just going to go ahead and blame Kyle Busch though.

-- Just had a thought:  Toyota....going fast...accelerating...must be a tricky PR issue to deal with.  Our cars are fast!  (they just don't stop.  oops!).  Good thing they have sensitive guys on their team who really know how to gently handle media...like Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch.  BAWHhahahahaha.

-- How can an ending be so exciting, but so boring and predicable at the same time?  Whatever.

Okay, that is it for the first race.  Good Times.  Thanks for letting me borrow the blog, Commish.  I promise not to hijack it again unless asked to. :)

Welcome to the 2010 Nascar Season!

Official 2010 Rules

1) Cost to participate is $100. The winners prize packages are still being worked out. The winner is also to be awarded a dinner to be paid for by all other participants.

2) Each participant needs to post their 5 driver selections in the comments section for each race prior to the drop of the green flag. I will open a blog topic for each week's race prior to the race. To post your selections, leave a comment for that post. Missing the green-flag deadline is an automatic loss and participant will be awarded the worst finishing positions (40-41-42) for that race.

3) You can only duplicate three of the five picks of another participant. Two picks must be different.

4) If you pick prior to the conclusion of qualifying, your picks are locked in. If you pick after qualifying is completed, you may change your picks up until the drop of the green flag.

5) Each week's winner will be determined based on best average finishing position. Winner will be posted on the blog. Money will be paid out only once, at the end of the season (based on total best average finishing position) -- not on a weekly basis.

6) John will act as commissioner and maintain the excel document tracking results.
